In other news, today I published a Substack post!

I'm still talking about abundance and scarcity, and this time I'm looking at mental load.

Shout out to everyone who carries too much, keeps tight control, and is very tired.

Happy Thanksgiving! I have no plans beyond parade and dog show watching, cooking a small dinner, and paining games with the girls later.

I'm here allllll day for moral support as you deal with family members, including judgment of behavior of siblings and exes!

Happy Friday! Where have you found or created beauty in your corners of the world this week?

I started making this blanket during surgery recovery, finished it this week, and my dog immediately claimed it. But she will share it with me sometimes 😂

What are your joys from this week?

Let's bring this back! Where have you found or created beauty this week?

I spent last weekend in the mountains for a church retreat. The fall colors were vibrant, but the best part was the time spent connecting with the other women, laughing, crying, praying together.

Your turn! Show me your joys!

If you are in need (SNAP, WIC, furloughed, unemployed) please make an Amazon wish list with food items, hygiene products, & cleaning products.

Share it using #MyNeedsList so others can send you something to help out during this difficult time.

Good morning, beloved.

You cannot save the world.

But you can help.

Today is a great day to overcome evil with good.

Umm hey! I had my appendix out Thursday evening. I'm home and recovering really well.

I'm sitting under a Bob Ross blanket sent by a friend, because internet friends are real friends. But I'm also looking at a bouquet brought by a local friend who coordinated getting my car back to my house.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but you did your best at the time. Even if you know better now, that was your best then, and it counts. Give your younger self grace and carry her with you, forgiven, into a better future.

Mine is called Have They Shown Taylor, which both embodies my lack of FF knowledge and belies my actual football knowledge.
My Fantasy Football team is called Goff-Sauce.

I’m really proud of it and I need the very small subset of people who will understand it to know.

Today, a professor-type with a PhD deferred to me in the elementary Sunday school class we were co-leading, and over coffee a friend referred to me as a wordsmith and asked if I was a church historian.

It's normal to wonder if you're in the right place, or doing enough. It's normal to witness...

Chatbots and AI slop are going to ruin countless brains. Yours doesn't have to be one of them. Study history. Read poetry. Get acquainted with Bach, Shakespeare, George Eliot. In a time when people are rapidly getting dumber, we need communities devoted to the life of the mind.

Very polite of Taylor to wait until I had a lighter work day to drop this album.

I've listened once and had a good time! I'll listen again to start drawing connections later today.

Hey y’all— does anyone have any resources on fonts, kerning, & color combos for easier readability for those with low vision/vision disabilities? Working on some big work projects & accessibility is super important to us.
