So I was in soft play and couldn't hear the alert over the screaming. I guess parents and toddlers have no chance in the event of a nuclear strike.

YES, I think about this insight from Marilyn Frye all the time. When I first read this essay in college, it was like a lightning storm in my brain in the best way. So many questions were answered.
Yup. I love this piece on how so many straight men are actually homoerotic and only truly love other men, they just unfortunately aren’t sexually attracted to them:

We are, and this is very literal, in a war for the human spirit. That is the framing of how the other side already sees it. And this is their vision.

NEW: The death shadow cast by Musk.

“When U.S.-supported soup kitchens were forced to close, babies starved quietly, their mothers said, while older siblings died begging for food.”

The world’s richest man did this to the world’s poorest children.

Don’t ever forget.
In Sudan, where children clung to life, doctors say USAID cuts have been fatal
The Trump administration’s cuts to USAID had an immediate and deadly impact in war-ravaged Sudan, according to civilians, doctors and aid officials.

A moment of honest-to-god genius from two years ago, which came to me with no identifying label as to the perpetrator. If you're out there, please identify yourself so I can a. give due credit and b. applaud you roundly for what was referred to back then as "The Final Boss of Dad Jokes"

But but but....kneecap said some nasty things about Israel
IDF soldiers have now themselves admitted they have been ordered to murder aid-seekers in Gaza.

Truly an atrocity built on atrocity.

There's so much hostility in the world and, if there's one thing I've learned over time, it's that 99.9% of musicians who get on stage just want to make people happy. Let's not punish or shame them for that. They're not trying to trick you. And, at a festival, if you're not feeling it, just move on.

Parklife was superb on Sunday.
Crowd super friendly and polite.
Noone wrecked on drink or drugs (apart from one poor lad in a nasty looking K hole)
Music fantastic. Sound system and visuals spot on.
And noone seemed bothered that me and my mates were far too old to be there 😅

The kids are alright.

So weird watching a video of McCartney from Glasto 04 which i was at.
And loving him then, but having not realisation 20 years later that I'd still be obesessing about the Beatles.

I felt proud of my government today. Can't remember the last time I felt that. A flicker of it yesterday weirdly as some of the damage of Brexit was undone.
Then I remember the 18 months of complicity in the genocide by Parliament.
Still, hopefully a step towards Netanyahu being strung up
