The Russo-Ukrainian war started at 4.30 AM on February 27th 2014 when Russian troops took control of the Crimean Parliament building in Simferopol. The invasion of Crimea was followed by the invasion of Donbass in March 2014. The war has been going on ever since.
From a fascist point of view everybody has an agenda and the "truth" is just what people want it to be, so of course there is "propaganda" everywhere. There is no coincidence that fascists hate journalists so much, good journalists seek truth and an objective truth is fascism's biggest opponent.
The Russian Embassy in London has called the BBC, Britain’s public service broadcaster, a “propaganda and disinformation tool” that was full of “ideological dogma.”
Russia joins Trump’s BBC pile-on
Moscow’s Embassy in London said “ideological dogma has replaced journalistic ethics” at the corporation.

I dare to say that fear is the biggest threat to western civilization. If good people have less fear we wouldn't be in this horrible situation today.
I'd say opposition to supporting Ukraine in Germany is mostly driven by (a) fears of escalation, (b) concerns around cost and (c) general anti-Americanism + admiration for Putin

"Putin attacked Ukraine, not Russians" fails to grapple with why millions of ordinary Russians were willing to follow orders in a devastating war against Ukraine.
This stuff open up questions over how far Russia as a society will come to terms with the past after Putin is gone.

1983 I visited Travemünde in West Germany and saw the fences and guards of the Iron Curtain. I asked my father if the wall would ever fall. "Not during mine, and even your, lifetime" he answered. Seven years later we visited Berlin. My father bought himself a big chunk of the wall as a souvenir.

None in the Russian opposition ever predicts a real Russian defeat where the Russian statehood itself is under threat.
Top Kremlin critic Mikhail Khodorkovsky warned Europe to get ready for a long-term confrontation with Russia regardless of how Moscow’s war on Ukraine unfolds.

Pro-Russians say Russia quickly repair their refineries. Clever me says that if it takes five weeks to repair it, it's the same as a ten percent annual loss in production. Each day closed matters. Same with harbors.

How come Russians can still get visas for the EU? Should have ended in 2014.
The EU is preparing to further tighten visa rules for Russian citizens, effectively ending the issuance of multi-entry Schengen permits in most cases, three European officials told POLITICO.
EU set to further tighten visa rules for Russians
Russians will generally only be eligible for single-entry visas once new rules take effect.

We should never pay attention to Russia's scare tactics. It's for cowards like Jake Sullivan and Olag Scholz, not people who are willing to stand up for something.
Putin has just announced that he has instructed the Foreign Ministry, the Defense Ministry, intelligence agencies, and other civilian departments to explore the possibility of preparing for nuclear weapons testing.

Closer and closer. Since Russia is the Empire of Darkness anyway, a national blackout would be very fitting.
