The last political column I was allowed to write in the @washingtonpost.com was a criticism of Obama.

His people took issue with my piece, but we were respectful.

Now he is tweeting in support of me.

This is how free political speech and respect for debate *actually works*.

Or used to work.

Good news break!
Blue iguana climbs back from the brink. Grand Cayman’s blue iguana, once down to fewer than 25 individuals, now numbers more than 1,000 in the wild. Captive breeding, habitat restoration and community engagement reversed what was nearly a Caribbean extinction. CNN buff.ly/GKiJpcz

The ‘blue dragon’ is back from the brink | CNN
Habitat loss and invasive cats and dogs pushed blue iguanas to the brink of extinction. Now, thanks to ongoing conservation efforts, populations are on the rise.

And your roommates, colleagues, etc. It's a good time to focus on kindness.
Romance takes an old-fashioned turn when Venus settles in Virgo from the 19th through October 13th. Courtship, good manners, and little touches go a long way. You don’t need to put on a show – you simply need to pay attention to what matters most to your beloved. #astrology

" Put your magic where your mouth is." - This is a GREAT phrase!
Don’t give up. Hang in there and keep fighting. You’ve got the tools. You’ve got the aid you need. Take a deep breath and focus. Put your magic where your mouth is. You’ve got this.

The "season" people are interesting - some of them come around just once, but a couple of them repeat when that particular emotional season comes around again, like the monarch butterflies returning after their winter migration.
As promised yesterday... my latest free tarotbyphil Substack post... I've really enjoyed writing this one, and I hope you enjoy it, too! 😊

A technical question for #academicsky and #skystorians out there: went to dig out some old PDFs: they all now read as having zero KBs (hence 'empty'). I transferred quite a few of these between my computer, Google Drive (always a mistake in retrospect), & an external hard-drive.

Any clue what's up?

Before you post something grumpy / snarky

(Yes, the temptation to vent anger is so strong now)

Pause and ask yourself—

How does this comment help?

Who does this comment help?

Who might this comment harm, even unintentionally, even as collateral damage?

Don’t make the world worse. Please.
