CNBC: "Very disappointing. It's a weak number. This is private sector jobs for September. The total comes in -32,000. And that was a surprise because economists were looking for an increase of 51,000. Also, the revision was not good. August now showing -3,000 compared to the initial read of 54,000"

Oh wow, I totally forgot that “The Bird Cage” was my introduction to the glory that is Christine Baranski. She’s been a bad bitch my whole life.
Every time I rewatch the movie, I’m even more upset at the son’s behavior.
Nathan Lane should’ve gotten an Oscar for “The Bird Cage.”

I’ve noticed a shift in how people engage on social media, especially when I’m sharing my thoughts or ideas about a topic.

They phrase a question as a demand.

“Give me examples…”
“Explain how…”

This isn’t how you engage in a conversation.

It is how you give commands to a chatbot.

Got an email from a Chinese vendor, letting me know she’d been worried I was affected by a recent round of layoffs, so she was so glad to see me pop up in her inbox this week.

I never think about the international relationships my job creates, but that was a sweet reminder.

I wish we could practice saying, “it makes me angry that my well-being is bound up with the well-being of people who wish me ill”

It’s infuriating and true
drives me crazy every time i see it

i get the resentful sentiment, i really do - but then my brain kicks in and reminds me that we're all stuck in this boat together whether we like it or not
“Let them suffer the consequences of their actions.”

I see this so much in my mentions, often from anonymous accounts who could be bots or ops for all I know, but whatever they are, they are trying to normalize a false bifurcation.

If “they” are suffering, so are people you consider to be “us.”
