“What radicalized you?” IDK, probably writing a paper about Cesar Chavez when I was in 6th grade.

Another thing about yesterday‘s protest escalation in St Paul : this area of the East Side is very diverse. I do believe that that had an impact on SPPD‘s deployment.

There are a lot of immigrants in this neighborhood, so the terror is felt far and wide. It is intimidation- locally sourced.

This is in front of my local public library, where I bring my kids all the time.
Riddle me this, how in the fuck is this making our communities any safer? This ICE agent sprays this disabled woman directly in the face in St Paul, Minnesota with pepper spray and then throws her to the ground. I hope she sues the hell out of ICE for this‼️#Abolish 🧊🧊🧊

There’s no such thing as unskilled labor.
Ex-farm worker here.

We need to talk about this whole "But a living wage for farm workers would spike the cost of food!" thing.

Not true AT ALL.

Y'all don't understand how fast experienced farm workers are.

The average tomato picker pulls 650lbs per hour.

At $20/hr, that's $0.03/lb for labor.

I spoke to my nephew late yesterday because he was was spiraling about the regime bombing Iran. I told him that what they did was a horror and unjust and that the fact that he felt both of these things means that the regime hasn't won. They haven't succeeded in numbing him to the horror of this.

The vibe I bring to the function
My partner & I were trying to ID a bird we heard while walking and the guy who had stopped his car to let us pass got out and was like "it's a frog, actually. Cope's Gray. I do frog surveys... Sorry" And then got in his car without a word and drove off. Absolute king

I only have two children but somehow this is an incredibly accurate representation of what my days feel like lately
The bridge is lined with many gorgeous sculptures of men and women and children, most of which are in the kind of poses that show the sculptor was a fantastic observer of real people—holding hands, carrying children, leaning against each other, all just stunning work.

Then there’s this guy.

Good thing my personal tornado alert system is still working (migraines)
So the tornado sirens went off where I live (St. Paul, Highland neighborhood) but I never got a phone alert and my weather app (Accuweather) never showed a tornado warning for me.

I find this concerning and am wondering if the confusion here is because of the Musk/Trump cuts to the NWS.
My phone didn’t even show that there was a tornado warning! I only found out when I got home that I basically drove home from Bloomington with a tornado overhead the whole way. And I was also listening to MPR which had the BBC playing.

One of the wilder political things in recent history is that Project 2025 publicly released a 900 page document laying out their plans to roll back 100 years of human progress and then during the campaign Republicans just said "no we're not :)" and then they won and now they're doing it all.

I got a call last night from one of my chosen family who was having a panic attack about the possibility of being disappeared for being trans, and I couldn’t even say that was an irrational fear. 🧵 with my ideas for supporting #transrights and trans friends below, add yours if you’ve got ‘em.
I don't care about 'who's next?' as much as I care about trans people *right now* and if more people cared about trans people *right now* they wouldn't have to worry about 'who's next?'
