Well, the game went ahead today. It snowed in the second half, and the women played with a fluorescent yellow (highlighter) ball.
Here's a goal for AFC Toronto, complete with a "worm" celebration. Yes, doing the "worm" in the snow

They’re not concerned with affordability. The whole reason the ACA exists is to get insurance to people who were otherwise denied coverage for preexisting conditions or shunted into terrible, high-cost plans with poor coverage. It was to ensure access to preventive care to reduce catastrophic need.

Towers take a decade to deliver homes. Small 6-12 unit apartments—once legal everywhere—can go from permit to move-in in under 3 years.
Empowers local builders, uses less steel, spreads housing beyond polluted arterials.

This is insane. This is *literally* doing the same mechanics of the housing crisis and 2008 recession but to create debt to finance construction of AI data centers

I am so depressed about the Wave losing earlier (ugh) but at least Aaron Rogers gave up a safety, so… at least one small something good happened today.

I feel more like this with every passing year.
We need a party that is committed to preserving, protecting & improving life. We don’t need people intent on endlessly negotiating how much humanity we deserve or if we deserve any at all.
We don’t need a society built around manufactured scarcity.

This pretty much sums up the entire ideological dispute between the two American political parties.
What they are arguing about, on almost all issues, is either methodology or magnitude. That is literally it.
The party of We Will Kill You vs the party of We Will Let You Die.

To be clear, Lindsey Graham, an American senator, has gone on the most popular Sunday morning current events show in the country and suggested that we drop nuclear bombs on Palestinians.
While they may differ in methodology, both parties agree that Palestinians should be eliminated.

Anyway a great way to radicalize people is for them to realize that you just abandoned their chance at being able to access and afford health care because you didn’t like waiting in line at the airport.

look I know being an engaged citizen IS the work of democracy but it is also the work of elected officials not to create situations where everyone has to be mobilized all the time to prevent them from allowing some kind of Dickensian horror on a Sunday night while you're in between loads of laundry

One of the talking points I keep seeing from Democrats is that part of the deal is that it will "ensure federal workers receive back pay" but that's the existing law!
That's not something you've won in negotiations. That's just the letter of the law. You don't get to claim that as a win.

Thinking about all of the bad calls in the Wave-Thorns game and one thing is crystal clear: Women’s sports need better refs.
NWSL, WBNA - pro women deserve better than what they get.

Also: another good argument for teaching everyone, beginning with kids, how LLMs work, how they're trained, what their output would look like without the existence of human art (or as it's often called these days, "training data.")
I spotted this on Mastodon and I find it horrible, not least for the speed with which this has happened.
