So many people I know have lost their homes. People I've worked with, people I know from the festival circuit, people I've been social media buddies with for a decade. This is all so heartbreaking and deeply fucked.

A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers. Beautiful and even a bit healing. Everyone should read this.
Like celebrating the first babies born in the new year, what's the first book you read this year?

This week’s Work Advice: How do I say no to invitations to meet up after work?

(Written for my younger self who thought “Oh, there’s no way he’s hitting on me, I’m way too young to hold his interest, he’s just being nice” and later “Oh no, did I lead him on by being myself?”)

Hello 2025! Time for the reminder that the past tense of cast is cast. Examples: She was cast in a show. The casting director cast 5 films last year. The show was cast in 2022. I cast a spell on you and now you’re mine.

Casted is not a word.

Mary Tyler Moore accidentally nailed a perfect trick shot in *The Dick Van Dyke Show* (1962)—on the FIRST take.

It was supposed to be done by a pro, but she shocked everyone and pulled it off herself. Absolute legend. 🎱✨

I don't mean to brag but l'm a bit of a triple threat: I can make it weird when I'm talking too much, I can make it weird when I'm not talking at all, and I can even make it weird when I'm talking the appropriate amount. Look out world.

Anyway, just create. Write shit, draw shit, build whatever you want, that's the important part.

There's no be-all end-all formula for the Perfect Work.

Just be YOU. No one can ever create what YOU create b/c it's you making it, and you are the only you.
