So idk let’s maybe stay a bit critical of this incredibly convenient narrative from a crisis management AI company that dismisses criticism of the white feminist billionaire, even if that narrative does kind of sort of align with bad things that we know do happen online

I had to deal with this awkward and humiliating line of questioning that has absolutely no relevance to trans healthcare

And I had to wait three years for it.

And they denied my application.

The NGS is inhumane and not fit for purpose.
There is absolutely no excuse or reason why this line of questioning should be allowed to continue in a free and open society in Ireland #SpéirGorm trans people should no longer be subject to this tortuous human rights violation they call healthcare! Fuck the NGS!

If your choice is between an existential risk to your organisation, vs being a fascist collaborator, and you make the difficult choice to be a collaborator...

...then you are still a collaborator.
Like, I'm sorry the fascists are giving you difficult choices. But that's what fascists fucking do. The only legit answer is "fuck you make me". The only answer that shows you have actual fucking principles not preferences is "fuck you make me". And that sucks. But here we are.

As always, the West will dismantle itself for Israel's genocide. Now the UK is openly replacing impartial judges days before important Palestine cases wrap up, without any explanation or clarification. Any pretense of fairness in the legal system is gone.

This. I've been working with "machine learning" since before the current AI-fever and it's an invaluable tool in science and engineering.

LLMs and GenAI are being misused in a criminally negligent way and using misplaced legitimacy to do it, and that misdirect cannot be allowed to continue.
Journalist challenge: Use “Machine Learning” when you mean machine learning and “LLM” when you mean LLM. Ditch “AI” as a catch-all term, it’s not useful for readers and it helps companies trying to confuse the public by obscuring the roles played by different technologies. 🧪

the lesson media people should take from the BBC blow up last week is that no matter how transphobic your editorial bent is, it will never ever ever satisfy the fascists
"One irony of this situation is that while those on the British left tend to defend the BBC on principle, they are often exasperated by its deference to the right-wing press..."

The way Labour are talking about migrants validates far right narratives of dehumanisation *at a time of far right riots and racist violence*. The leadership group responsible needs to be removed right now as a matter of public safety. This is simply a factual description of the situation before us.
Honestly, the potential case for getting rid of Starmer before was the lack of any political project and absence of charisma. But now No.10 is creating a moral imperative for the PLP to act as well.
