Just a reminder this is possible and you can make your day a lot more peaceful if this thing that you forgot was happening today was happening. No shade to those who like it, it's just the complete opposite of my jam.

I want to say, with my whole heart, writing isn't a competition. It's an art. It's something we do with our hearts to make our souls grow and express ourselves and truths about the world and people and even ourselves whether we mean to or not.

Taxing billionaires out of existence may be the most critical domestic policy fight of our lifetimes.
Former Washington Post journalists have launched a GoFundMe to help repatriate fired staff members who are effectively stranded in foreign countries.

One of the richest men in the world fired them from the paper and didn’t even pay to ensure they got home.

Every instance of "AI democratizes the arts, you're classist and ableist and a gatekeeper for trying to stop it" is a slap in the face to the literally centuries of poor, disabled people making art on the margins and a crass lie in service of a machine that strips down and regurgitates dreams

Also, if you're a fan of Deep Space Nine and you miss this most recent episode of Starfleet Academy, you're missing something special.

I spent the entire episode teary eyed. It was a pitch perfect exploration with so many wonderful nods that were thematically right.

“In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back to a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.”

I want to see an episode of the new Muppet Show guest starring Daisy Ridley and @markhamillofficial.bsky.social. But then Rey Skywalker and BB-8 crash land on some sort of comedy variety show planet and then Luke’s ghost has to help, too. Also, Angus MacGarnagle, the gargling gargoyle.

production of The Muppet Show should not be dependent on petty vulgarities like “ratings” or “revenue.” it should be preserved as a vital function of american culture. it should have a taxpayer-funded budget rivaling the CIA

Art is powerful. Maybe I have something in my eye.
Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

The new episode of The Muppet Show was exactly what I needed. It wasn’t some ridiculous spectacle with an added story or a new formula…. It was just a new episode of the classic show like they hadn’t missed a beat. More please.

Reminder that "jaywalking" was literally made up by american car manufacturers to shift the blame for accidents from drivers to pedestrians. "Jay" was a slang term meaning "idiot" or "rube".
“Jaywalking is permitted in London. In 1966, the police tried to crack down on it, but gave up after three months.”

People walk and cycle on roads by right, people drive under licence.

Jaywalking is not a thing in English law and Waymo must not change that.
