Dear new #BlueSky people,
If you've come here from #Twitter and you identify as MAGA, please include Trump or MAGA in your Blue Sky bio. That way, like-minded people can find, identify and follow you. Srsly. 😏 #USPolitics

400+ years after the "First Thanksgiving" most Americans have no idea that the Wampanoag people are still here. My tribe, the Aquinnah Wampanoag, is on Martha's Vineyard and we're still fighting for our land and rights. We’re also doing some cool stuff. 🧵👇 if you’d like to learn more & support us

Almost certainly underestimated, too.
Between Autism and ADHD, combined, it's estimated that about 5% of a nation's population will have one or the other, or possibly both. Interacting with us can be a different experience. Some people might not be aware of how to best communicate with us. #MentalHealth www.helpguide.org/mental-healt...

My advice to all the new folks here is to be kind.

That doesn’t mean nice. Be *kind.*

And then when you’re done doing that, be kind some more.

And if you can’t be kind, just go do something else for a little while.

Hi everyone.

The Onion, with the help of the Sandy Hook families, has purchased InfoWars.

We are planning on making it a very funny, very stupid website.

We have retained the services of some Onion and Clickhole Hall of Famers to pull this off.

I can't wait to show you what we have cooked up.
The Onion Buys Alex Jones’s Infowars Out of Bankruptcy
The satirical news site planned to turn Infowars into a parody of itself, mocking “weird internet personalities” who peddle conspiracy theories and health supplements.

If you were "good at twitter," how is your late-in-life ADHD diagnosis going?
November 12, 2024 at 6:29 PM
I heard things were happening here, so I came back. Am not disappointed.
What a difference a week makes. Last Tuesday, it was just a few of us Australian Bsky users politely chatting amongst ourselves - the odd pun here and there; a week later and we’re Twitter c. 2014
a crowd of people are watching a band perform
Alt: a crowd-surfer leaps from a stage onto a sweaty horde of revellers at a Gang of Youths concert (or similar - could be the DMAs or Green Day or something - Regurgitator even)

Yet.
It’ll definitely beat twitter. That place will be conspiratorial and misinformation central. It’s full of nonsense. I haven’t seen active disinformation here just yet.

Fun fact: tiktok videos talking about "this is what it's like living with adhd" from people with diagnosed adhd is why I finally started getting treatment instead of just coping. Because those videos led to doctors talking about options available - which have drastically improved since I was a kid
I can’t tell your tone but I’m not a fan of this take. I think TikTok has opened up knowledge about how they behave that matches certain disorders and getting an official diagnosis is not always an accessible option.

Medical gatekeeping. Cate is taking offense that so many ND people have found they do the "3 drinks" thing of a caffeinated drink, a hydrated drink, and a fun drink, and is acting like tiktok and drinks are causing people to self-diagnose (as opposed to just finding commonalities and community)

Last night I went to a major networking function in my sector. It happened to be my 7th wedding anniversary.
I told anyone who would listen that I was celebrating this by toasting to freedom because I asked my spouse to move out.
It went down really well. I now have many more LinkedIn connections.
