A recent study found that for every $1 invested in the National Weather Service, it produces $73 in value to Americans.

Not only is the NWS a life-saving government resource, it's actually quite efficient.

Pure corruption.

We can't. We need answers.

One thing Trump didn't talk about last night: his plans to abandon American women’s right to abortion care in medical emergencies.

I wonder why he wouldn't want anyone to know that.

In Oversight today, my colleagues stuck to their usual script: blaming immigrants for all crime & claiming Dem mayors are too soft. Well, I was curious to know if they’ve ever had an immigrant with a criminal record that they could recall. Tune in!

Etymology of the day: ‘book’ comes from an ancient root shared by ‘beech’, a wood that people used for engraving inscriptions. ‘Paper’ comes from ‘papyrus’, and ‘volume’ is from the Latin for a ‘roll’ of parchment.

Happy World Book Day.

Donald Trump promised he wouldn't cut Medicaid.

This week, his friends in DC voted for a bill that would leave 3.4 million Illinoisans, including 1.4 million children, in the dust.

Another middle finger to working families and the most vulnerable in our state.

So increasing the minimum wage to a livable wage is “socialism”?

But Amazon union busting, keeping wages low, and forcing workers onto public assistance while its founder increases his net worth by $7.9M an hour is the "free market"?

Perhaps this could be a WaPo opinion piece.

With utmost respect, HOW does resigning make them
A “hero”?! Wouldn’t a hero say, “fuck you” (figuratively speaking) and wait to be fired? I’m sincerely struggling to grasp this take.
Acting AG Emil Bove tried to reassign Mayor Adams’ case to the public integrity unit at Main Justice in DC. Upon learning of this, senior DOJ officials resigned. The heroes are here.

I’m often asked what I think the sign of the end is, and it’s this: When the convicted felon publicly says he’ll defy court orders. No one who can stop him—in other words, Republicans—will in any way object or oppose him. Neither will the Republican Supreme Court. When he does that, it’s game over.
