Today is the last day to register your opposition to this by commenting to the BLM. This is a very special place, and it’s no place for a giant copper mine. If you’re a U.S. citizen, please speak up.

Protect Ocelots and Owls From Mining
The Lower San Pedro River is a rare oasis in the Southwest, and it needs your help. Mining interests could soon tear up this important desert lifeline — without going through the proper review process...

Thinking of my little friend the young red-tailed hawk. She was released by a rehab group and now lives near me. She’s lovely.

Excellent thread.
Being a person with deadly, incurable cancer who is nonetheless still alive for an indefinite timeframe gives me an interesting metaphor that helps me deal with things like large-scale corruption in government or commerce.

Bear with me for a second while I try to explain.

I'm not mad at people focusing on the Nazi salute and I don't want to concern shame people focusing on the Nazi salute but... just for me, I think NAZI POLICIES are more despicable than Nazi hand gestures.

Listen to Kaitlin. She’s right
I do not want to be mean about this, because it’s the right thing to do, but the point is to get us to challenge it to produce a circuit split that puts it before a court that is explicitly and dramatically opposed to the existence of the 14th amendment and the Reconstruction that crafted it.
New Jersey is running point on this. I'm adding the list of 18 states in the next skeet, and other supporting info

If you're reposting it for "awareness" you're in the same class as the people who shared videos of Black folks being murdered by cops for awareness. In short:🖕🏾🖕🏾🖕🏾🖕🏾🖕🏾🖕🏾
Hi you don’t have to post it. And you don’t have to re-post it.

And you can think about the fact that Jewish people are gonna be traumatized every single time you make us see it over and over and over and over.

You can just not post it.

Excellent advice
Everything is dumb and terrible, and it's gonna be dumb and terrible for a while. It’s important to do what you can to make it less dumb and terrible, and it's important to find a way make some contentment for yourself in spite of everything being dumb and terrible.

this confirms something i have long suspected, which is that certain people are told that their professional and academic failures are because of “affirmative action” or “DEI” as a way to avoid difficult conversations about their mediocrity www.wsj.com/lifestyle/ca...
You Blamed DEI for Hurting Your Career. Now What?
For people who pin their failures on diversity, corporate America’s DEI retreat removes a barrier—or maybe an excuse.

Important work by the DOJ Civil Rights Division. Without question, the heavy & heroic lifting has been done by locals in OK. But it matters to have the U.S. government affirm what really happened. In the coming years more people will understand why establishing the public record is so important.
“The Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921, in which a prosperous Black neighborhood in Oklahoma was destroyed and up to 300 people were killed, was not committed by an uncontrolled mob but was the result of “a coordinated, military-style attack” by white citizens.”

"California paid in a lot more [to the federal government] than it got back — $83 billion in total. So did Washington state and much of the Northeast. Most red states were in the reverse position, getting much more from DC than they paid in return."
