I arrived in South Carolina the next morning. Mark’s brief challenge to Trump for the GOP nomination was long over, but he was an eager and popular source for the many reporters then descending on the state to cover the Democratic primary a few days later, including me. Oblivious to their tryst the previous evening, I texted Mark and asked him to get lunch with me and Olivia, which I later learned had sent her into a panic. She called Mark, explained that I was her boyfriend, and asked him not to meet with me. Among other things, her recklessness detonated my relationship with a good source in a key state. Mark politely told her not to contact him again until she was single and had her life figured out, which is why a few days later, when she was at the Kimpton Hotel in Nashville, she kept writing and re-writing those notes of apology that she stuffed in the backpack she later threw on our bedroom floor. Olivia had written a tabloid-style news story about how “sources in Washington, D.C. and Charleston have been buzzing recently about an unexpected romance: Mark Sanford and Olivia Nuzzi,” who was described as “one of the most famous political reporters in America,” a “blonde beauty” who “gained critical acclaim as a skilled profile writer, gaining access to the powerful and the mysterious and turning it into pure journalistic gold.”

Purdue to the rescue of IU student newspaper, whose institution was attempting censorship. Details in alt!
Sara Whitmer • • • 1h • 8 I'm sure many of you have heard by now that earlier this week, IU k*lled the print edition of its student paper, the IDS. The issue that was supposed to print this week contained criticism of the Whitten regime and IUs further slide into scist control, and they couldn't allow that to happen during Homecoming, when all the rich alumni are in town. Enter Purdue! The Purdue student paper, The Exponent, owns its own presses. Yesterday, in an act of tremendous solidarity with their biggest rival school, they printed the forbidden issue of the IDS. They then drove it to Bloomington overnight and stocked all of the IDS boxes on campus, just in time for Homecoming. Solidarity is what makes us stronger, and solidarity will be what ultimately allows us to triumph, if we can ever truly get it together. I hope everyone has a fun, safe day if they're going out today, and I hope we can think about what acts of solidarity we can begin taking to really make this movement MOVE - beyond a permitted expression of upset into more active resistance. 75 12 comments
