Banned Books Week is being quietly banned in public libraries across the US. This is a political choice in an era where libraries continue to claim being "not political."

How come when I hallucinate terrifying shit they call it epilepsy and try to use it to take away my driving licence, but when AI hallucinates terrifying shit they call it a tech revolution and try to use it to take away everyone's job?
I now know how it feels to receive psychic damage. I'm not even kidding, this gave me a new kind of headache. Something not totally physical but painful nonetheless.
AI sitcom accidentally a Lynchian fever dream. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and insane lament.

Funnily enough, after the 2008 banker-caused financial crash, the austerity obsessed uk government would use points 3 and 4 to justify closing a large number of britain's libraries. The more things change, eh?
1850. The Public Libraries Act means councils in England & Wales can now spend local taxes on libraries. Some London regions are VERY slow to adopt the act. St Pancras rate-payers object to “wasting” money on “showy luxuries”. Fifty years pass before a free library opens in the district #PubLibs 💙📚

Tell Doug Ford No.

Tell him we will not subsidize his landlord buddies and their obscene, parasitic lifestyle while we’re at risk of being evicted even when we pay rent, even when we follow every law to the letter.

TELL HIM NO. 🚨🚨🚨

Call Doug Ford. Call your MPP, tell them they will never be allowed to rest for a solitary second if they don’t decisively vote down this bill.

This is not a drill. We will never get these protections back if we lose them.

Call Doug Ford.

She reported that the agents questioned the validity of her passport and told her she “doesn’t look like” her family name, Greeley.

Publishers should have to put a note on the first page of each book informing people exactly how much extra they charged the local libraries for their copies of the exact same book (especially ebook copies).

Right now, judges are chipping away at *our* rights.
