This is never an issue in issue in interlibrary loan. We will keep and reuse boxes long past When they should have died because "hey, it's a good size, it can do one more trip!" We also don't care what boxes we use, although we might have looked like alcoholics after we got hold of those vodka cases

I get the feeling the LoC is trying to avoid getting their budget eviscerated. I'm not sure rolling over like that will help them in the long run, though. I take comfort knowing that even though they can't be trusted, Sandy Berman is still fighting the good fight at 92 years old.

Picking away at my lit review and listening to my favourite Alice Cooper album. It's been quite a tough week, but Alice always makes me smile as his music brings back happy memories of someone very excellent who is no longer with us.

2025 has been completely batshit crazy so far, but waking up this morning to find that the makers of chatgpt are (with a straight face) complaining that an ai company is cynically using their work without permission feels like it's through batshit crazy and out the other side. Am I still asleep?

Well, I knew it was going to be busy, but the floodgates really opened yesterday. For context, though, this is pretty standard for the ILL department of a major university at this time of year. We are going to get slammed for the next month or so.
