There was a discussion going on about something and this bloke challenged someone if they believed there was a correlation between physical beauty and morality, so I quoted him that bit from Roald Dahl's "The Twit's" and he absolutely lost his mind.
What’s the funniest reason someone got mad at you on Bluesky this year?

It's wild that there appears to be more current concern for the Lost Library of Alexandria than for the British Library. The BL's crisis exemplifies the accelerating destruction--through apathy as much as by design--of human knowledge & learning. I'm not even being dramatic.
‘No one seems to care’: scholars decry plight of British Library

Historian Peter Mandler said it was “a sorry state when a major piece of public infrastructure like this is hit so badly and no one in authority even seems to notice, much less care”.

It’s naked corruption and a decimation of the rule of law:

“Prime Minister Mark Carney plans to grant cabinet ministers the power to exempt any individual or company from any federal law on the books — except for the Criminal Code — for up to six years. “ #cdnpoli

It was a few days ago, but we had fun making them so I'm going to put them on here. The Jim Morrison Biscuit Cooperative put together a little something for the last class of the Queer Archives course that I've been working with through the Pride Library.

If we can’t kill you with bans we’ll destroy you financially. The goal is to make libraries ineffective then turn them over to for-profit companies, as prisons have been, then fill them with propaganda. Or just shutter them. Once you close a library, it’s damned near impossible to open it back up.
