Everyone is always like “oh you’re from Baltimore, is it like The Wire” but what they don’t get is that The Wire grossly underrepresented how many people in this city know how to walk on stilts

I have an article I like to reread whenever I get hot in the head about an editor’s comments to remind me to be grateful as hell to have close, attentive readers who want me to put out great work.
An actual hot take: Too many authors are afraid of editors watering down their voice or whatever and not afraid enough of editors letting you put any old slop on the page.

A whole host of overpaid consultants and talking heads told them not to do the right thing and they still chose to do the right thing, so I'd even go a step further and encourage people to contact Senators who opposed this measure (SB 9) and thank them for standing by trans people and our families
I want to quickly say how significant it is that after the last election, Dems have held relatively strong on trans rights, even on sports.

Senators in battleground states are not flipping.

Their one scuff was the NDAA, where some did flip.

Budget fight is next though.

Friday at Wax Atlas! Come witness the first performance of 50 Foot Woman and the Worms, some rock and roll panacea against the ghoulish political landscape!!

It's a free show, 8pm, and featuring sets from The Electric Grandmother, Witching Hours, and the birthday baby TaylorShitDotNet!

Come study with me at the University of Baltimore’s MFA in Creative Writing & Publishing Arts ✍🏾 📚 📃 🏫

Now is a great time to study and write poetry in an affordable, working class, cooler-than-the-other side-of-the-pillow city

Overheard a firefighter this morning griping to his transfemme colleague about how he would also like two birthdays a year please.

Baltimore, I love you.

Grateful for the folks who’ve been clear-eyed and taking steps for months.
Everyone concerned about data loss right now should learn about the End of Term Web Archive, which I believe has been working on preserving federal websites for the past 8 months. The dataset you fear has been lost may well be here

Just an incredible project. Thank you to everyone involved
How to Access the EOT Web Archives

Visit web.archive.org
Scroll to 🔎Collection Search section
Select "End Of Term (US Gov 2024)" from the menu
Type in your query term and click search

Or download bulk WARC files from eotarchive.org/data/
