If you track maternal mortality along every metric, health insurance, weight, blood pressure, diabetes, location, education, employment, a Black woman and a white woman whose lives look identical on paper will still have a 300% disparity in maternal mortality.
Black women with a college degree have a higher rate of maternal mortality than White women without a high school diploma. Racism has a unique impact separate and apart from class.

Despair and Hope are equally useless, but Hope through Action is a path forward. We found each other on our blogs; let’s do it again here. We have each other.
