There is a devastating report in the NYT this afternoon that one the US-destroyed fishing boats washed ashore in Columbia and contained only evidence of marijuana.

Trump’s claim that he is saving the US from fentanyl smuggling by Venezuela is a disprovable lie.

Faking being "naive" about Trump, or being too stupid to not know -- both are a bad look. Trump did HORRIFIC things these people did NOT find disqualifying. Only when it helped their careers did they decide to "see the light". Welcome them, but do NOT give platform, money, or fame.

Solid, important read.

"The old man along the highway could be my father, your grandparent, your uncle or aunt—but that person is a neighbor to all of us. We must take ownership and accountability to lift each other up, or we all fall together."
Saturday afternoon I saw a figure stumbling along in the ditch. I stopped and offered a ride.

The 83-year-old man didn’t hesitate. He accepted immediately. Hunched over, carrying his folder, he lurched towards my car and nearly fell into the seat, exhausted.

I feel like "attention hacking" is most of politics now. The Minnesota aid fraud story is becoming a perfect example.

Recap: In 2022, the Biden DOJ filed the first charges against dozens of fraudsters, many of them Somali-American, who'd fleeced a state food aid program. (1/x)

Cases from Nepal show degraded land can regenerate when locals enforce grazing bans, curb logging, and patrol forests—no costly tree-planting needed.

Native species rebound within years, suggesting community-led protection and natural regeneration are more effective and sustainable.
