I am gutted to learn of @sfdirewolf.bsky.social (Alice Wong’s) passing. She was always a warm friend, a wonderful spirit, and someone who fostered my own growth. She helped me see that, as a #disabled person with chronic illness, I matter—I am whole. I’ll be posting some of Alice’s work. ❤️ forever

I attended a meeting yesterday and it reminded me that every single organizer needs to get training on how to facilitate meetings. Truly. You lose more people through terrible meeting facilitation than I can express.

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 5: Vito Marcantonio

There are many who dismiss our vision for New York as impossible. To them, I say we need look only to our past for proof of how we can shape the future.

Tomorrow is Election Day. And this is the final Until It's Done of our campaign.

New poll: UNH finds that November’s ballot measure in Maine that would greatly restrict mail voting, and impose voter ID, is *very* tight.

It’s 49% no, 48% yes. scholars.unh.edu/survey_cente...

One of the most suspenseful elections on November 4.

My publisher’s been very patient. I’m not doing everything I said I’d do to promote this book (out in a few weeks) because I’m an organizer in a city under federal attack. My days are full and emotionally exhausting. Any help getting the word out means a lot. It's a book people need right now.

Proudest moment of my life was getting a bill to close Maine's last youth prison to the desk of Gov. Mills.

She vetoed it. Then invited formerly incarcerated young people to meet with her, and yelled at them.

She will never get my vote.

My dear friend is living outside and Maine cold weather is here.

Can you help us get her housed for the next week? She is working tirelessly to find housing with her voucher. We just need to keep her alive another week to keep fighting.

The shelter is not an option for trans disabled people.

This will not happen unless the mayor directs CPD to arrest ICE in violation. At this point, he will discover why it is a problem that the CPD does not answer to the mayor. If only some well-organized movement in 2020 had pointed this out.
HAPPENING NOW — This morning, Mayor Brandon Johnson signed an executive order establishing “ICE-free zones.”

“That means that city property and unwilling private businesses will no longer serve as grounds for these raids,” Johnson said to applause.

y'all know i'm always studying the old folks & as my stability has crumbled, i think more abt boarding houses, multi-gen homes & shared housing.

it used to be the norm & needs to return asap

but all i keep hearing in my head are my "ion want people in my house..." friends

how do we survive this?

It looks like some of the biggest investors in the anti-trans movement are fossil fuel billionaires who are trying to use trans issues to ensure that Republicans pass policies favorable to their industry.

If you don't, it can stop you from trying to do any activism or organizing. Most of the critics aren't doing any organizing themselves so keep trying things

Attended a conference held by my union and the president made apologist statements about why people voted for this, said workers are partners with bosses, and defends a union-AI project. Don’t romanticize unions. We need unions but there’s a lot of bad politics in them. Unions are what we make them.
