OK, I just placed my first order on Flashfood. We'll see how it goes! It's an app that offers food items at deep discounts because they're close to their expiration dates.

BREAKING: At Pope Leo XIV’s urging, U.S. Catholic bishops just delivered the strongest rebuke of a sitting president in Church history — condemning Trump-Vance raids as “inhumane” and “dehumanizing” in a 216–5 vote.
NEW: At Pope Leo’s Urging, Bishops Issue Historic Rebuke of Trump’s Raids
Nearly all U.S. Catholic bishops united in Baltimore to denounce the Trump administration’s “inhumane” deportation campaign — a near-unanimous, unprecedented moral stand against a sitting president.

Today is a good day to remember, and to say, that the #MeToo movement was right, and was righteous, and has been vindicated over and over again. There was no overreach. There was no excess. There was no they-went-too-far.

So much work remains to be done.

Just a thought: How about we stop shaming the poor for buying things that may not be essential, and start shaming the rich for making a profit off things that are essential?

I'm not usually speechless. But when a strange older man at the auto shop this morning asked me if I was married, found out I was not, then said: "You're a young, beautiful woman--WHAT HAPPENED?" I was. How much time do you have, stranger?

When I got my brain MRI, it was because I had COVID so severely, my doctor worried I'd had a stroke. I needed testing immediately to figure out the best treatment, and I got it--and paid $2,000 after my employer insurance.
Rand Paul's idea of sending more money directly to people "so they can negotiate better deals" is absurd. An MRI is not like a car or laptop. Most people do not have time to call around to check for prices and reviews of facilities or doctors, on top of checking if they accept an insurance plan.

Hi! Many things are bad you can still have a great day. Try to plan something fun offline like a walk outside, picking up a favorite pastry, going to a local farmer's market or a nap. You still deserve joy and time to rest and recover.

Should I go to the theater alone tonight? Pros: it's my favorite Shakespeare play and my kid is busy so I have a free night. Cons: Spending money, leaving the house.

Three children were killed by lawn darts in the 70’s and they were banned in the US.

ChatGPT has caused how many deaths at this point?

The biggest thing i've learned as an artist who sells prints and merch is don't make what people ask for. They won't buy it. Make what you, the artist, want to see printed on the support of ur choice.
I can't explain why but THAT'S what will sell. People who buy the most are the silent ones. 🫶
Remember, artists: when people say, “I’d buy a print of this,” they don’t mean it. That sentence itself is just a weird compliment that rarely converts to an actual print sale. It’s like if someone ate a very good hot dog and then said, “I could eat 10,000 of these right now.”

In the midst of a lot of (mostly) terrible, can I just tell you what a joy it is to have both parents AND a kid who love parks and nature? It makes planning trips so much easier and fun. What are we going to do? I don't know, walk around, look at plants. GREAT, EVERYONE IS IN.

My teen's school canceled school because one of the girls' sports teams is going to state. And I think that's awesome! The school is chartering a bus, providing free tix to all kids who want to go to the game during the day. The school understands kids need rest AND celebrates girls' sports.
