This is fascism.

Never forget and never forgive the so-called “normie Republicans” who enabled this monster, fully aware of how dangerous he was, all for their own political and personal gain.

I think it's time for us to view Kennedy's actions as an attack not just on our public health but the country itself. He's an incredible monster.

Really remarkable how we have gone from "former President Clinton met with the Attorney General" as a scandal to "the DOJ is the President's personal law firm, and every part of the administrative state serves to target the President's political opponents" as the norm.
Important: Note that Trump just posted documents plainly given to him by administration agencies as part of his quest to show Schiff merits prosecution. This is an open flaunting of the use of agencies to gin up pretexts for prosecuting enemies. (cc @donmoyn.bsky.social @emptywheel.bsky.social)

let's take stock here:

(Democratic) Presidents, via the Dept of Education, can't cancel student debt because statutes don't clearly authorize it.

Republican Presidents can cancel/shut down the Dept of Education because, even though only Congress can shut down departments ..., ... 🤷‍♀️ YOLO?
BREAKING: The Supreme Court allows the Trump administration to move forward with the abolition of the Department of Education. It gives no explanation for its order. All three liberals dissent. www.documentcloud.org/documents/25...

I was watching this live today and had to turn it off. Just gross and shameful and not at all helpful for Texans who tuned in to get actual updated information.
“Prayer matters,” Abbott said. Prayers “could have been the reason why water stopped rising”.

What a shameful MAGA debacle of a press conference - a conference supposedly intended to help families desperate for information on the Texas flooding.

Please pray for these precious missing children and all those affected today. Just a horrific day.
About 23 girls at Camp Mystic remained unaccounted for Friday after deadly flooding from the Guadalupe River caused “destructive” floods at the private Christian summer camp in Hunt, Texas, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said.

This is theft, plain and simple. They stole this from you. Every deletion, every erasure, every website that goes dark is a crime against the American public
The US Global Change Research Program's website, including all its sub-domains that host the National Climate Assessments and related reports, is now offline.

The 1990 Global Change Research Act (see below) mandates its research findings be available to all federal agencies & departments.

This is so so so so corrupt. Why any institution is willing to negotiate is beyond me — why anyone thinks they can make a real deal is baffling. It’s corruption all the way down.

I keep thinking about all of the FedSoc lawyers who very quietly told me in 2016 that they were voting for Trump because they were worried about who Hillary would nominate for judgeships. Hope you’re all happy now.
BROWN: “Does that mean Trump doesn't support picking Amy Coney Barrett for the Supreme Court?”

MILLER: “We're not going to be using the Federalist Society to make judicial nominations at all going forward.”
