Stephen Miller is Trump’s most important and influential aide because he channels and shares the president’s worldview. His cold-blooded assessment that might makes right is the one immutable law of history and is now the guiding concept behind US foreign policy…

It's an old and obvious pattern. An unpopular president - failing on the economy and losing his grip on power at home - decides to launch a war for regime change abroad.

The American people don’t want to “run” a foreign country while our leaders fail to improve life in this one.

The upshot is that we know as little now as we did earlier today, other than that Maduro and Flores are in US custody and will be publicly humiliated before being tried in a US court.

No plan, no strategy and no theory of victory, because all they thought through was how to grab Maduro.

Pete Hegseth stands behind our troops and behind Admiral Mitch Bradley - juuuuuuuust far enough behind to make sure they go to jail instead of him for the illegal strike that Pete Hegseth ordered.

Here for the tough man talk, gone for the tough many consequences. Profiles in cowardice.
Ladies and gentlemen: let’s all watch the chest-beating lethality macho warfighter dude trying to scurry away at the first sign of trouble.

It's a small step (same-sex couples in EU members without marriage equality can now marry in another member state and have their marriages recognised at home).

But it's an important one. A consequence of a supranational system with a strong harmonising interest. Relevant to gender recognition.
Really important decision for the rights of gay people, who are EU citizens, moving around the EU and seeking to ensure their marriage in one Member State is recognised in another. Notably more weight placed on citizenship rights than in the AG Opinion:

I watched Yarvin’s Sheldonian lecture. What struck me is that he’s describing real institutional failures, but he completely misdiagnoses the cause. He treats “democracy” as the problem, when the actual collapse is upstream.
See also Curtis Yarvin's remarks in a recent Oxford lecture:

"Say what you want about MBS, he's quite an effective king I think in a lot of different ways. Um love the Ritz thing, the whole Saudi embassy thing, I don't know, but I mean he was a journalist". [Giggles]

i'd say it did. the public put a group of thieves, vandals and extremists in office last november and they promptly went about destroying everything that might work to limit their ability to loot, steal and inflicting pain on the people they hate
This whole NYT account about the weaponization of DOJ is beyond disturbing. Kinda feels like the US government fell in January.

Today, the conservatives (EPP) passed a major piece of EU legislation with the far-right groups in the EU Parliament, marking the breakdown of the cordon sanitaire. The EPP, under Weber, has decided to sacrifice long-term principles and stability for short-term political gains.

Just in case you thought this was about trans athletes. This was solely about creating a fascist and racist gender bureaucracy over what constitutes being feminine enough to be considered a woman.

They're targeting cis women who may be intersex and banning them from sport.
