Bill 60 means that we will not be able to add cycle tracks to Albert and Slater Street or extend the O’Connor bike lane to Wellington Street. It’s an absurd overreach by the Ford government that will make all road users less safe and waste millions. I hate it here.

Ottawa says new provincial bill likely kills at least 3 bike lane projects | CBC News
New provincial legislation prohibiting how municipalities can build bike lanes means three projects in Ottawa likely can't move forward and others will get more expensive, according to a city report.

Got the LRT wayfinding designs out of my info request finally- there's this "keep it moving" sticker that can go on platforms where people naturally crowd where they shouldn't... @helps.octranspo.com any chance we can get something like this on the platforms at Carleton?

It’s one more reason that I’m advocate for a re-think of Ottawa’stransportation plans, centred around the transformation of CN Rail’s Beachburg Corridor into a major east-west transit corridor connecting our city’s strategic centres and intersecting existing transit lines. 3/

@helps.octranspo.com @somersetward.bsky.social Some very attractive and muscular men came and lifted this bench behind Pimisi back into place today, but there are still a few boards missing from the benches themselves

@helps.octranspo.com A new bus pad/platform was built for Rotary/Nettle (#3394) several weeks ago but the stop flag has not been moved there yet. Just want to make sure this work order wasn’t forgotten

Remain calm
Jeff Leiper Patriots are in control
Across Ottawa, from fairs and markets to townhalls and meetings, I’ve been hearing the same thing: people are frustrated and want a new direction for our city. We need a city that works, with reliable transit, strong services, repaired roads and community centres.

Diagram of all current indefinite Temporary Speed Restrictions in effect on Line 1. This info has not been public but I finally got an MFIPPA released recently so I can share this. All TSRs except the ones at the ends are at the request of Alstom, and have been in place since the LRT inquiry in 2022

E-ink next stop displays showing up after the last time it was mentioned as a pilot project 2 years ago. I had asked Renee Amilcar about at a budget meeting last year and she had no idea what e-ink was. Hilarious there's been no updates and one just pops up out of nowhere

I can only speak on behalf of what I hear from residents in Ward 9, but I can say with confidence that "asking for better and more effective policing" is not as high on the wish-list as the Mayor suggests here. Certainly, there are more resonant issues. 1/
The demands on emergency services have never been higher. Our residents have been asking for better and more effective policing. They want to see more police officers patrolling our streets. They want faster response times. They want to feel safe in their community.

Great message from St. Catherine's Mayor Mat Siscoe at the final AMO panel. "We don't need wider highways to address congestion in Ontario. We need more rail." Ottawa, meet the Beachburg Rail Corridor. I'm going to be talking about this a lot over the coming months.

@helps.octranspo.com Would it be possible to add another bench or two around Leitrim B? 9/10 times I catch the 93 there’s a handful of people sitting on the ground outside the shelter in the shade since there’s nowhere else to sit. A person is sitting in the grass behind the operator bldg as well
