At first I thought nominating Saint Eren for this one was doing her a little dirty as she objectively does the least direct harm out of the whole rogue's gallery of book 2, but then again she's done *plenty* with her bare hands by the end of book 1

As an undead individual, Merion is difficult to take down, but not impossible. They won’t simply be walking this off.

But I've published 2:
CONSORT AND I is very horny.
WINGS IN THE VALLEY is less horny but the MCs have horns, it's a whole thing.

Taking the dead of night to get all *pensive* and stuff since fleeing from law enforcement earlier that day didn’t leave a lot of time for it

The hour is familiar but, in addition to tracking each world’s rotation, everyone uses the Radiant standard 30-hour day.
Paliputra even rotates on a 30-hour cycle, because it was altered to, which altered some *unintended* things too, so the whole thing had to be taken out of orbit.

It wasn’t as highlit in the first story, but at least for the first arc of its ongoing sequel, By A Thread, a lot of emphasis is placed on following the sunset, and the moods of day and night are pretty distinct from each other.

Paliputra has a non-Copernican relationship with its sun, a ball of decaying aether that orbits it instead, bathing it in a weak dusklight at best.
Also the sun occasionally drips down over a danger zone around the equator and blasts the hell out of the surface

Aldehyde Backhand here, sci-fantasy worldbuilder writing short stories in the Ravel’s future and a long-form story series in its past.
I like evening because that’s when I get to come home and make something out of whatever I’d been daydreaming of all day until then.

Ondria hasn't shown her face yet, though her name has been brought up with a measure of reverence and fear. She can't solve *all* her problems with a power washer and a soundproof cell... but it never hurts to check.

I always feel a little like two parts of me are arguing when I edit, lol.
The editor part of me says "we're here to trim the fat, idiot, you KNOW you're an over-writer so don't get so precious about it" while the writer part of me is clinging to the excess 15,000 words like:
