i am pro-"partisan statehood measures." make DC a state. allow PR a binding resolution to determine if want statehood. offer the same to our other island holdings — american samoa, guam, the northern mariana islands and the US virgin islands. if they agree, incorporate them as a 1 or 2 units.

I continue to think that American right-wing evangelicalism is evolving away from Nicene Christianity into a new thing. I don't mean that in the "no true Scotsman" sense, as if Christians can't believe bad and toxic things. I mean these guys are literally adopting a new fundamental creed.

These guys want to build some dystopian hell-society that has never existed before - reactionary radicals, as it were - whereas I'm here thinking we ought to actually go and build the kind of society that growing up in the 1990s I was told (with some degree of inaccuracy) that we already had.
