The people of Missouri made it very clear: They wanted abortion rights (at least until fetal viability).

Alas, the Missouri Supreme Court doesn’t seem to be inclined to listen.

Take a minute from your day and read this chilling story about how quickly we've gotten to where we are.
1. Clay Jackson, a Texas lawyer, provided basic legal advice to an immigrant family fearing deportation

Then, two officers visited him at his home, accusing him of "obstructing an ongoing immigration investigation"

Then, after speaking publicly, he was fired from his job at a Fortune 500 company

On March 4, Clay Jackson, an attorney in the Dallas area, was at a gas station near his home when the attendant asked if he would help a local immigrant family.

I received a heartbreaking email today: A paper in a special issue I’m editing is being retracted because one of its authors is afraid of losing their job and their legal status in the U.S. if they publish a scientific study on evolution. Yes, on evolution, nature's engine of diversity.

Judge: If the court can't review it, POTUS could say *anybody* - like if a fishing boat with Chinese fisherman came too close - the president could say "WE ARE BEING INVADED BY CHINESE BOATS" and could just deport every Chinese fisherman.

DOJ: Congress could repeal or amend the AEA at any time.

With Social Security, don't get too caught up talking about the minutiae.

THEY ARE TRYING TO TAKE AWAY SOCIAL SECURITY.

Lead with that every time, then talk about how: removing offices, ID verification, bogus fraud claims, layoffs, etc.

Set the narrative now. It's not alarmist. It's happening.

Americans don't realize he'll come after them as well. We never learn.

They claim they can snatch people up, put them on planes, and deport them to a country run by an authoritarian, where those people will be forced to work slave labor at an inhumane prison. All without due process, and in defiance of federal courts.

The hypotheticals are over. This is the nightmare.

Among the material devastation to everyday people, Senate Dems have now blown a hole in their ability to work with the House.

We had an agreed upon plan, House took immense risk, then Senate turned around midway and destroyed it w/ a fear-based, inexplicable abdication.

They own what happens next.

I don’t buy the narrative that Trump & President Musk actually WANT a shutdown. If that was the truth, they would’ve put forth an even worse bill that would 100% guarantee zero Dem votes.

What they did was propose a bill that green-lights DOGE & Elon’s billionaire takeover by omitting guardrails.

I lived through Senate Democrats arguing “we aren’t voting for war, we’re voting to give Bush the authority to wage war so Saddam can see we are unified and back down.”

Like I (and many others) said in 2002-3: You’re voting for the damn war and it’s wrong.

And here we are again.

I think some in the Senate have convinced themselves that the backlash to folding will be limited to “the left” and therefore ignorable.

Those people are deeply and profoundly misreading the moment and the stakes.

Virtually every swing district House Dem walked the plank to vote NO for a reason.

As predicted, women in New Hampshire had a hard time voting yesterday because of the new proof of citizenship law:

“It doesn’t have my married name on it,” she said. Town voting officials then sent her away a second time, to get her marriage certificate.

NH’s new ID requirements send some would-be voters home to grab passports, birth certificates
The law requires all new voters to show proof of their U.S. citizenship. For some, that meant making multiple trips to and from the polls before finally casting a ballot on Tuesday.
