Well, more reasons to think Northwestern (and by extension, me) will be getting any new grants soon.
DOGE is now reviewing every NIH grant that goes out, I reported last week.

That review is AI-driven and is screening for DEI, trans health, China, vaccine hesitancy, and the institutions to whom Trump has blocked funding, @hannahnatanson.bsky.social reports.

Not the point of the tweet, but it always amazes me how much the NIH budget declined during Obama and increased under Trump 1. That was after he proposed cuts, but he ‘art of the dealed’ it up to record highs.
How bad will it be? Catastrophic.

Proposed cuts to #NSF, #NIH, and #NASA will set the US R&D landscape back 25 yrs+, cause economic and job loss now, and undermine innovations to come.

But, this is the WH's *proposed* budget.

Speak up now before it is too late.
