It helps to think of what’s happened between 2018 and 2025 as basically a police riot, IMO: the political/media class mobbing together and rioting to get what they want, by force. Funnily enough, imposing your desires on the public doesn’t work very well in a democracy, and makes things much worse.

Thatcher's government did this with Section 28, banned the "promotion of homosexuality" as a danger to children, while actively protecting Jimmy Savile and who knows how many other pedophiles. It's the same damn playbook.
