Vaccines DO NOT cause autism - there is extensive research showing this. Resurrecting old, discredited, fraudulent work is shameful.

Vaccine-preventable illnesses are serious - this is going to cause real harms.

This is dangerous & disappointing.

Autism develops from many influences during early brain development. Duke researchers explain a “threshold” model: no single gene or factor causes autism on its own. Many small genetic differences, with certain environmental influences before birth, can add up and increase the likelihood of autism.

Here’s what 8 years as a doctor has taught me:

GO SEE THE PATIENT

In medical school: every patient, as much as you can

In residency: when the nurse is worried at 3am on your 28-hour call shift

As an attending: when the hospice social worker calls your cell phone

This is not only untrue, it is the exact opposite. COVID infection in pregnancy is associated with double the rate of stillbirths. COVID infection before or during early pregnancy is associated with three times higher rate of miscarriage.

Thanks for the reminder @janemunday.bsky.social. Every summer, I repost this article DROWNING DOES NOT LOOK LIKE DROWNING. To date, I know of FOUR kids who were saved after someone who'd clicked on the link learnt how to spot actual drowning. Take time to read and pass on.

For our @3wishesprogram.bsky.social, we sometimes gift plushes that contain the now deceased loved one's heartbeat recording to family members. A wife told me she puts her husband's shirt on the bear, holds it, and cries "in the comfort of his arms". I'm not crying, you're crying.
