I’m going to make a thread about how the feds have changed their tactics here in Los Angeles because the community has forced them to adapt.

Please stop using language that suggests that people with criminal records are appropriate targets for this administration's violence. One in three adults has a criminal record. Stop playing sacrifice games with fascists. Stop surrendering entire categories of people in your own mind.

I’m very late & I can’t believe it. Rest in power & light, Alice Wong.

“Where the Hell is My Husband” coming on at the bar as I solo watch this game & crash out/celebrate. If they can’t love me at my Arizona fandom, they don’t deserve me at my Dodgers fandom.

Optimist me: We’re in this even though we’re playing like garbage! We got this!

Pessimist me: Why is this shit even close??

Ticketmaster is so fucking stupid. Intuit Arena is gonna be half empty tonight because a normal viewing ticket is $300 for a preseason nonconference college basketball game.

It’s true. The ‘84 Olympics ushered in a hundreds of millions more dollars in police budget, which was used to surveil and jail Black & brown youth, the unhoused, immigrants, and sex workers. It also armed the police with more military equipment, including a freaking tank.

You can thank the LAPD for creating militarized policing. They used the shootout with the Black Panther’s and the Watts Uprising to justify its existence. Later on they’d use the 1984 Olympics and War on Drugs to further entrench the police as soldier, in equipment and mentality.
I simply refuse to accept that police ever have to look like this. this is just pure cosplay. it should be illegal for cops to be dressed like soldiers going to war.

Gotta tip? It doesn’t need to be based in LA. Anything related to ICE, obviously. Also: cops doing bad things, your boss making you work in unsafe workplaces, jail/prisons and the incarcerated people it impacts. If people in power are picking on the little guy, I wanna hear about it! Contact in bio.
