Hey all.
Thanks for the follows💙
We have Canadians & Americans in our family among many other nationalities.
All of my posts come from a place of concern & love for both countries as well as this planet we are all inhabiting together.
Please be kind. Truly, we are all in this together.

1000% this.
A govt with even a SHRED of decency would NOT need a court order to correct this horrific mistake!!!!

You set the house on fire, watched it burn, and then lost your nerve and put it out. You now have a partially burned house. Great job.

1000% this.
No, Trump isn't cratering our economy. The entire Republican Party is cratering our economy. The enablers deserve just as much blame as Trump.

I have believed this for about ten years:

Thé US is a nation of boiling frogs.

And if the voting public draws the line at nothing, soon enough, the person those voters empower to lead the country will also:

Draw. The. Line. At. Nothing.

If the gov’t mistakenly disappears the wrong person (though clearly gov’t couldn’t care less if “mistakes” are made), the court shrugs.

Will the court allow for literally anyone on US soil to be disappeared? while gov’t goes “whoops” & does nothing to remedy the situation

My, how the US has fallen

The biggest scandal in the history of the Presidency.

And no one is talking about it.
Good morning.

Today is the 80th day that the U.S. President is running a backdoor bribery scheme in which any CEO or foreign oligarch can send him money secretly through his crypto coin scam in exchange for favors.

It's the biggest scandal in the history of the Presidency.

One positive thing to take from the last few years of politics is that there almost certainly *isn't* a secret cabal of Illuminati running the world behind the scenes. And if there is, they're not very hands-on with it.

Whenever a Democratic president takes over again, he/she needs to immediately reform the Supreme Court & then argue against the Citizens United Super PAC decision, as well as argue for personal contribution limits to your own campaign.

This.
I want my government to be boring and competent enough so that I don’t have to think about it every goddamn minute.

Because penguins are awesome.

1000% this.
the media posting articles like this without mentioning that these senators and congress can stop them but don't is just giving them the cover they're looking for

Turns out, #Bidenomics wasn’t so bad…

The short term pain long term gain argument re: tariffs is asinine.

Because no matter what happens from here, since J20, the US is not only no longer a reliable partner but a malevolent one, with corrupt and incompetent leadership.

It will take a generation or more to repair the damage, if ever.

May I propose, in addition to the requirement of having circled the sun 35 times in order to run for POTUS-

Perhaps a civics class, and, like, a basic economics class be required to be both taken and passed before one is able to run for such a mightily important office?
April 3, 2025 at 3:50 PM
Yes please.

Yes please.

Yes please.

Wow. Turns out barring someone from running for office

isn’t. actually. that. hard.
March 31, 2025 at 5:01 PM
Exactly.
I always hated the "this is the greatest country in the world" refrain, but it is striking to me that the things they are killing in government — an unrivaled scientific research enterprise, incredible public lands, etc — are some of the only things that made such a statement vaguely defensible.

Generations of Americans raised to believe “it could never happen here”

Because of the strength of institutions; checks & balances; the rule of law;

Paradoxically, that very paradigm & the resulting confidence, complacency & comfort it provided was the exact recipe needed…

for it to happen here.

For the but-I-like-his-policies voter

Was it the:

A) tax cut for billionaires?

B) cruelty of child separation?

C) tragically botched pandemic response?

Surely not his conservative policies. He was never a conservative. As a wise man once said, he’s fascist to the core.

So please, enlighten me.

My plan for the Canadian Armed Forces will strengthen our economy and secure our sovereignty.

In an increasingly divided world, we will invest to give our military the tools they need — from submarines and icebreakers, to drones, and next generation defence capabilities.

These are the workers who are going to build a strong, modern military fleet. It’s time to invest big in our national defence and to protect our sovereignty. It’s time to build Canada Strong.
