One thing I’ve seen is that while many people seek digital spaces for conversations, it’s also an easy place to speak in ways we never would in person.

Over the last few years, several media and politicians have described trans folk as a “gender ideology,” “radical agenda,” “social contagion,” etc. This isn’t original. They basically recycle homophobic talking points from the 90s/00s with zero self awareness. It’d be funny if it weren’t so harmful.

I stayed up all night researching my observation that Speaker Johnson has no power to police the Capitol restrooms. Submitted an op-ed to major newspapers. If I don't hear back from them in the next few days, I'll post it publicly.

Trans people's lives and rights can't be neatly sliced up into siloed debates about when/where/how we can get health care or be recognized for who we are any more than women's humanity can be neatly divided between their bodily autonomy or their role in public life. We are either equal or we are not
