The score *feels* feldmanesque at points, like Rothko Chapel remixed with Takemitsu. I also hear a lotta Stravinsky in the fish hunting sequences
angel's egg had me thinking a lot about morton feldman. patterns, fields, chapels

I’m fascinated by the figure of Eugen Dühring, an intellectual that absolutely NOBODY would remember today if it weren’t for the fact that Marx, Engels, and Nietzsche all hated his guts.

Angel's Egg rules for a lot of reasons, but its especially funny because its the closest thing a lot of anime fans watch to an experimental film and they treat it's mostly pretty easy to parse poetics as deeply impenetrable and outre.

The real problem is these solipsistic media freakshows make regular people increasingly alienated from media, in turn making it easier and easier for billionaires to dismantle the media.

What do you tell a regular person when they ask why they should give a fuck whether Vanity Fair exists?

Every time a zoomer romanticizes the 2000s I want to eat my car keys
One of the strangest aspects of aging that they don't warn you about is watching as history gets rewritten right in front of your face and people 20 years younger than you confidently tell you about something you lived through and get it completely wrong.
