The editors of the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) were apparently fired today.

The precursor to MMWR began in 1878 to address emerging public health threats rapidly.

We are not “great” without it. We are vulnerable to threats from sporadic foodborne illness to bioterrorism.

Imagine a world where Alzheimer’s, cancer, and deadly diseases could have been stopped and then realize someone chose to let it slip away. Ending research that could have cured Alzheimer’s, cancer, and countless diseases isn’t politics it’s a crime against humanity’s future.

Let me say the same thing today, in the wake of Charlie Kirk's death, as I said when Brian Thompson was assassinated, when the CDC campus was shot & a police officer lost his life, and when school shootings happen:

*Violence is never the answer.*

Our rhetoric & actions need to make that clear. 💔

Q: If Trump is gonna ban mail-in voting is he gonna make voting day a national holiday to help people deal with the massive lines?

A: Of course not. Because it isn’t about voter fraud, it’s about voter suppression.

There is simply not enough to say about how bad this is. Not only will we miss out on cures for infections & things like pancreatic cancer, the US will fall behind in science, tech, economy, and while other countries will take this over it will still be slowed/delayed. It’s a national security risk!
This is so harmful. Scientists are developing mRNA-based cancer vaccines that could save so many lives.

Respectfully, Mr. Reich, they're gonna go up a lot more than 75% for a lot of enrollees.

That's just the AVERAGE amount @kff.org estimates they'll increase.

In some cases enrollees will have to pay 3-4x as much as they do today, or even more than that.

If Joe Biden did not know that Russia was ejected from the G8 in 2014 precisely because it invaded Crimea, & that Justin Trudeau was not PM at the time, we would be having a National Conversation™️ about how Democrats can continue supporting a senile president who is a huge national security danger.
Russia was kicked out of the G8 in March 2014 exactly BECAUSE it launched its war in Ukraine by invading and forcibly annexing Crimea.
Trump with Mark Carney: "The G7 used to be the G8. Barack Obama and a person named Trudeau didn't want to have Russia in, and I would say that was a mistake, because I think you wouldn't have a war right now if you had Russia in."

Making America healthy? 🤔😕🛟
After 21 years at my dream job, I’m very sad to announce my early retirement from the National Institutes of Health. My life’s work has been to scientifically study how our food environment affects what we eat, and how what we eat affects our physiology.
