I say his gently, but…

There’s something unspeakably shameful The United States letting people go hungry.

Not because its government doesn’t fix it —

but because tomorrow a few private Americans could, and never notice the cost.

That’s the part that sits wrong.

After the holiday shopping season, experts are inspecting spending data to extract any insights into whether consumers will continue to hold up the economy in 2026.

The consensus? There really isn’t one.
Consumers keep contradicting themselves. What does that mean for 2026?
For retail experts and economists, the takeaway on the holiday season varies widely, depending on the product category, brand and who’s buying.

Remember, if you've ever wondered why PS1 games feel like they have odd control schemes, it's because the PS1 originally did not launch with joysticks on the controller. They came later. So even though many later games could use joysticks, all games needed to be made thinking they weren't there.

The Supreme Court, Presidency, Senate and two party system are all quite anti-democratic institutions as presently constructed.

Our institutions are not only incapable of preventing tyranny—they’re currently enabling it.
