Hi, I'm the ProPublica reporter who's been tracking an unusual stat: U.S. citizens grabbed by immigration agents.

I did it because the government isn’t.

This is what I found.

The Catholic Church is responsible for a lot of culture war crap and all the "gender ideology" nonsense. But on this, Leo is on the right side of the line.
Pope Leo: "Someone who says, 'I'm against abortion,' but is in favor of the death penalty is not really pro-life. Someone who says, 'I'm against abortion but I'm in agreement with the inhuman treatment of immigrants in the United States,' I don’t know if that's pro-life."
Pope Leo speaks up on Dick Durbin’s behalf amid abortion rift
"It's important to look at the overall work that a senator has done,” the pontiff said amid an uproar over a church honor for the Illinois Democrat.

‘Booty’ and ‘butt’ are synonyms.

‘Call’ and ‘dial’ are synonyms.

But, a ‘booty call’ and a ‘butt dial’ are VERY different things.

this is amazing. it's a great ad for Mamdani, obviously, but it's also an honest to god ad for unions and the power of labor.
Meet Shakira. Ten years ago, she was living in a shelter with her three kids, working at a non-union hotel.

Now she's a member of HTC.

Unions are how working people can build a dignified life. But in a city as expensive as ours, they need local government on their side.

Researchers in water law and policy explain how companies rarely tell the public exactly how much water data centers consume:

What's gone unsaid in all this talk about homeless people in DC is that so many in the Capital are veterans who are now having the military aimed back at them for the crime of being poor.
REPORTER: Why are troops stationed here at Union Station and at the National Mall instead of areas where crime is higher?

JD VANCE: Crime is actually extremely high here at Union Station. You have vagrants.

They are requiring Democrats to sign “permission slips” and have a police escort in order to leave the chamber, and she refuses to sign it.

GOP seem to prize power above everything. They are content to rule without challenge over a country that is discredited, whose vaunted institutions are crumbling, and whose economy will decline rapidly as soon as it is clear that data about it have less credibility than Greek numbers in 2012.
