#dev2days - I'm pivoting my dev project to a game jam entry for the this metroidvania game jam! me and another dev are workin together, but while i wait for a theme I started sketchin character shape variations for something i wanted to make in-line with a metroidvania in case it happens to align.

Opening an old project and learning my adjustable turn speed code wasn't adjustable after all but I never noticed because I picked a turn speed of 60 which then got multiplied by delta (1/60) giving me... 1.

Starting to think one of the biggest mistakes action games have made in the PS2 era is making aligning your facing direction to the target near instant for both you and enemies. Despite adding a dimension the y-axis of games like Final Fight completely vanished, you have distance but not alignement.

What the past few months have taught me is deciding to take a break from programming to focus purely on 3D modeling was a terrible idea, now I'm burnt out on one and rusty on the other. Had to remove a variable from the messiest part of the code and I have no idea if that broke anything or not.

Moved the default physics framerate of my game to 90 so that players can alter the game's speed adjusting it up and down a decent amount without it going under 60.
Now hoping Godot adds a version of move_and_slide without pre-multiplied delta before release so I don't have to learn C++ myself...
