Don’t suggest giving Messi the ball in your defensive half. He knows what to do with your gift 🎁

One of the kindest most beautiful humans you can ever be blessed to work with and meet. We are so lucky here in Seattle and I hope other people see how much it means to have a player stay with a club -a club that has literally been through EVERYTHING - for their entire career.
Lauren Barnes played her last pro game tonight: 252 #NWSL regular season appearances, 21,000+ minutes -- the only player to ever achieve either, and she did it entirely in Seattle. End of an era.
Lu leaving for the last time... 💙

Not gonna lie, I think every captain should be saying something on Sunday. It was an attack on the league and the sport. Just because it didn't involve your team directly doesn't mean it's not worth speaking on. It can't only be a problem when it directly affects you. It's too important.

It’s Lu Barnes final home game with Seattle after announcing her retirement at the end of the season. Lu has appeared in 251 of 277 games in Seattle’s history 🤯 She’s a legend of the club, the league, and the game. And she will be so missed on the field 💙

Uefa says that allowing a Spanish La Liga match to be played in Miami, and an Italian Serie A one in Perth, isn't precedent-setting. But soccer's organizing principle has been shattered. Any game can go to the highest-bidding locale now.

Was working all day and coming home to this news is hard to process.

Genuinely cared about people. This is a loss for football.

Coaches, make sure you build and lean on your support system. It’s a hard profession and it takes a toll. You can’t go it alone. You’ll never walk alone.

RIP 🤍
Matt was a lovely bloke who really cared about his players, I don't know anyone who covered women's football in England who's ever had a bad word to say about him. Women's football is poorer for his passing.
