I wrote about abandoning great man theory. It demobilizes us, it makes us wait for saviors, it makes it harder to see ourselves as leaders. And this world needs all of us right now, not just a few special messiahs.

Inversely, there are many, MANY people who go to university only to go on to become alt-right pundits or fascists.
Libs and lefties smugly point at education/reading levels as the reason for reactionary thinking. Like wow, so much smarter. And wonder why everyone hates us.

My mom didn’t pass HS, she hates fascists. I barely made it out with a D average. Same with my brother. And most people I grew up with.

That being said I still really really want the Elder Scrolls VI before the world explodes
May 22, 2025 at 1:42 PM
I think the Elder Scrolls as a whole runs into difficulty retaining my attention in the later stages as combat is trivialized and no other gameplay is introduced to supplement this- not to say I don't love them, but it's primarily for the narrative. The mechanics themselves tend to fall off
May 22, 2025 at 1:42 PM
While there's a part of me that finds some joy in breaking a game's balance entirely (exploiting bugs or unintended mechanics ala Morrowind Soul Trap bug or Oblivion item duping), it also tends to end my desire to play said games- there's no more dopamine to be had at that point

when people ask me "how the magic system works" I tend to get defensive because the truth is I really don't know and it's not important, I don't even know how the washing machine works but guess what it still cleans clothes. as a novelist my domain is lies and frippery

Hopping into Disco Elysium- super overwhelming until you just learn to rock with it and lean into the insanity. The writing is brilliant, every character has a unique voice, style, diction, personality. Intensely political game as well which I always enjoy.

Not sure if it's the lack of genuinely good news in the world of late or if it's just the depression talking but sleeping for 15 hours a day sure has been pretty common lately
