Liverpool's title challenge has broken, shattered, collapsed.
Their season isn't over, though. Far from it. The next nine league matches offer reasons for optimism, and here's why: www.andrewbeasleyfootball.com/p/liverpools...

#LFC's performance against Real Madrid suggested a corner had been turned, but the loss to City is a sign that it was the exception rather than the rule. It's one step forward but two back for the Reds & now the season looks on the brink. Read more here: www.andcouldheplay.com/one-step-for...

Refereeing performance aside, #LFC weren't good enough against Man City, with the Reds taking one step forward but two back lately. The players need to show some form of consistency before the season gets away from them entirely. Read my latest piece here: www.andcouldheplay.com/one-step-for...

We know referees in other countries have been bribed, so I find the English exceptionalism at any mention that ours might be dodgy quite curious. It takes nothing away from #LFC's poor performance; you can't only show up against Real Madrid. Read more: www.andcouldheplay.com/one-step-for...

One of the things I hate most when talking about referees is people saying 'you can't blame them'. Yesterday, one previously paid by City's owners & another from Greater Manchester helped tilt the field. #LFC weren't good enough, but that's poor. Read more: www.andcouldheplay.com/one-step-for...

Manchester City play a game of football today. Most of us will be watching. Which makes sense. What doesn’t make sense is why so few care about City’s owner playing an active role in a genocide so gruesome it can be seen from space. By @barneyronay.bsky.social

Silence over Sudan: why do Manchester City’s owners get away with so much?
Two midweek matches in England had a backdrop of war and geopolitics, but only one drew large protests

Spotify is crashing HARD because of the boycott. Their stock dropped 11% in value over the last month. Let’s keep this going!
Tell everyone you know to boycott Spotify. There are plenty of alternatives that don’t run ICE advertisements and screw over artists.

Couldn’t agree more with this. Zero reason for the general public to be allowed to buy noisy fireworks when silent ones now exist. Stick them in the bin. Tonight will be like the bloody Somme around ours, which is why we’re in the Lake District.

Amused to read all the moralising over the booing of Alexander-Arnold. He deliberately ran his contract down in order to move to a direct rival on the European stage, all whilst learning Spanish but pretending he was finding it a really difficult to decision to make. Delighted the prick got booed.

GET INNNNNNN!!!!!!!! Much-needed for confidence. I’m not going to be celebrating us being “back” until we’ve played one of the lumbering bunch of long-ball merchants & survived, but that’s really satisfying.
