This is one of those things that bothers me. Curtis seemed like the first player to get on Wirtz’s wavelength. He’s also the only Scouser in the team. Feel like it’s a massive mistake to marginalise him.
Really interesting subtext from Arne Slot on Curtis Jones in today’s press conference.
No mention of his qualities. No clear desire to keep him. Framed more as squad depth than key player.
With his contract up next summer, that felt significant.

My delight in seeing Saudi Arabia FC have been knocked out of the League Cup is marred somewhat by noting that it’s 130 Charges FC that did the knocking. Still, at least we can all cheer on Set Pieces FC in the final, that paragon of virtue who kept Thomas Partey & is sponsored by Visit Rwanda 🙃

Am I right in thinking that the last player #LFC signed but left with his club at the time before bringing him in was Naby Keïta? Let’s hope this one does a bit better…..

I think this might be what I’ve been referencing from time to time, mistakenly saying “Spring”. In short, any conversation about #LFC’s season, both the good and the bad, that doesn’t include reference to Jota’s passing and its impact on all concerned isn’t being done in good faith.

It’s always difficult to take transfer rumours seriously because there are so many interested parties involved, but if there’s any truth to the Curtis Jones stuff then I’m flabbergasted. One of our best midfielders this season & starting to strike up a good relationship with Wirtz recently. Wild.

I think several things can be true at the same time. Andy Robertson is the best left-back #LFC have had in the Premier League era IMO. I also thought he was looking his age & it was right to replace him, so it’s right for both him & the club for him to move on. He will be rightly celebrated forever.
