When a major news outlet like the New York Times timidly states that Trump's video depiction of shit showed "brown liquid," it's more likely to describe Trump's overthrow of democracy as a "reform process."
The New York Times twists itself in knots pretending it doesn’t know things that it absolutely knows. Such as referring to the shit in Trump’s AI video as “brown liquid.” 9/

I've been playing around with Docker (Compose) recently. I still find it unfathomable how anyone uses YAML out of choice, especially when error messages are so unhelpful.

You end up asking ChatGPT to tell you what's wrong (take your pick of spacing/indentation, : = quote-marks).

Made coffee. Cat decided to sit on my chair when I was out. She doesn't want to share chair with me. Done 30mins outside. Cold ears now.

HAPPY WEEKEND.

How long will it be before the US Supreme (or should that be Supine) Court allows the tangerine toddler to fire a member of the Supreme Court?

That's surely gonna try and happen soon, isn't it?

Why on earth regulators and courts are political is beyond me. It's easy to act for the greater good.

I think Spotify may be confused.

Tallis has been dead for a few centuries.

Spotify's got Byrd's lament as well.

It's so lovely to be able to use quick voice commands again on the pixel (with a 'corp' account).

For months its been broken, and no one in support has been able to help. Then a couple of days ago, boom. It's back working again.

For someone who needs alarms to remind them about breaks/food…

It feels like it's about 20 years since we've wanted to serve websites on the naked/apex domains (e.g. example.org) but it seems there's still not a standard way to define ALIAS/ANAME resource records in the DNS.

Anyone know of anything that might make this more standard in the near future?

If you want a weird but true fact to talk about:

Dexter Holland, lead singer of The Offspring, was instrumental in this. His doctorial thesis in molecular biology was sequencing mRNA in HIV. The paper was also heavily cited in creating the COVID-19 vaccine.
It feels like we should be making a bigger deal of “we actually did in fact find a cure for AIDS”

🧀Some (very Friday in August) polling. Does your favourite cheese affect how you vote? Reform have huge leads with fans of Stilton & Cheddar, but also people who don't eat cheese at all. Labour dominates among Feta fans. Tories best result is Brie & Greens with Camembert.

Should absolutely be up there — especially as he holds the record of being the only twice-impeached President (to date).
To please Great Leader, the Smithsonian has removed Trump from its Impeachment Exhibit. Now, only Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton are shown as having been impeached. (Nixon resigned before the vote.) We are only minutes away from Barack Obama being removed from photographs à la Joseph Stalin.

in the year 2025, I did just read "build in 100 lines of Perl".

My first reaction was, "how cute", then I stopped to think how many people I've worked with over the last 15 years use Perl as their default language.

Maybe that's the distinction between "sysadmin" and "devops"… (python, otoh…)
