CDC’s clinical guidelines for PrEP — which all but eliminates HIV risk — have been removed from CDC’s website. This is what you get when you search.

Expanding PrEP access is essential to end HIV infections.

They want people to get HIV as some sort of punishment for being immoral.

I'm seeing a few reports of this, but I can't confirm this is widespread. I have been told a separate passport office is no longer processing changes, but new apps will go by your BC and renewals by your current info.

There's a lot of confusion out there on passports and no real answer yet.

New: Meta has deleted trans and nonbinary Messenger themes, as well as the blog posts announcing them. Happens the same week that it has changed its rules to allow users to say LGBTQ+ people are "mentally ill"

What is Watch Duty? The free, nonprofit service is a lifeline for California's residents as multiple wildfires rage on. "Watch Duty weeds out all of Twitter’s extraneous chatter and shoots straight for its core goal: telling people where a fire is right now, and where it is headed."

From 2022:
A Crowdsourced Wildfire App Tracks All of California’s Blazes
Watch Duty is already a lifeline for the state’s residents. Its reach could soon extend to more disasters and regions.

Your periodic reminder that if you need to get out of your house FAST, do not bother trying to stuff your cats into carriers, just scoop them up in pillowcases. (You can drop said squirming rage sacks into carriers for added security if you have time.)

the whole amber alerts situation is terrible. received one last week that you could not view if you didn’t have an X account. they should really link to the info on California Highway Patrol’s site, not a third party’s.

I’m liking the Watch Duty app (using on iOS) for keeping track of local evacuation orders (with notifications) for the fires in Los Angeles. It also integrates with local news reports and other updates.
