President Zelenskyy’s response: “With all respect to Lindsey…only Ukrainians vote for their president.”

87% of jobs at Amazon pay less than $20 an hour while half of its warehouse workers struggle to cover food and housing costs.

Meanwhile, Jeff Bezos saw his net worth increase by $7.9 million an hour in 2023.

Is this the "free market" Bezos is so desperate to defend?

DOGE recommends cuts to the FAA.

Hundreds of workers get fired, including those tasked with producing air traffic navigation maps.

Now Starlink is reportedly in line to take over a $2 billion contract to upgrade the nation's air traffic control systems.

See how this works?

I got lazy using Amazon. No more. Buying directly from businesses, using Costco on-line, local small businesses and my wonderful public library for books. No more Kindle. It feels good and I will continue.

I'm writing a piece for @iflscience.com on the latest Musk/Trump moves against science in the US: NOAA and FDA cancelling flu vaccines.

If you have been affected by cuts in any agency or you have comments on how the mass firings might endanger people in the US, DM me. Happy to keep you anonymous

It's absolutely insane that Elon Musk and his wrecking crew are saying they're firing entire swaths of our government infrastructure and the press are just like "oh that's sad but what are you gonna do, guess they're fired." It is batshit crazypants, and it's being covered like normal policy choices
The U.S. has two tsunami warning centers, both operated by NOAA. Employees were terminated from these centers today. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center covers Hawaiʻi, and now it is less safe to be near the beach.

If this regime were really opposed to fraud, waste and abuse, they wouldn't be dropping fraud cases, and they wouldn't be making cuts at the CFPB.

I think it's worth a penny a day to be able to get weather updates from NOAA/NWS.

Project 2025 folks us that Trump/Musk plan to privatize chunks of NOAA/NWS. How do you like paying a for-profit company for your weather? Do you want weather forecasts to be behind a paywall?

Call Congress.
Hey! Did you know the NWS and NOAA provide:

-Weather Watches/Warnings
-Current Observations (at over 10,000 observation sites)
-Satellite Observations
-Doppler Radar Data
-Weather Models
-Severe Weather Outlooks
-And much more...

We get all of this for roughly $3 per person in taxes per year.

Imagine losing NOAA and having a once in a generation climate disaster EVERY YEAR!
How many times do you look at the temperature on your phone?

Most of those temperatures are from weather stations NOAA/NWS helps maintain…or they are a model interpolation from a model NOAA/NWS helped develop.

The radar data, satellite data, every single watch and warning…that’s NOAA/NWS.
