Yesterday at the ICE detention facility I met Maria, an amazing woman who was going to the store when armed and masked ICE agents surrounded her car, broke her window, dragged her out, and locked her up even though she has absolutely no criminal record.

On National Girls and Women in Sports Day we celebrate girls and women being active and inspiring the next generations of athletes. We must do all we can to preserve access to skill-building, teamwork, friendship, and fun for ALL girls and women who participate as players or spectators.

I met with local businesses and members of the Forest Grove Chamber. I've said it before and will say it again: small businesses are important to our communities and the economy, but they can’t thrive when customers and workers are being kidnapped off the streets and detained or deported.

Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Just 81 years ago on this day Auschwitz-Birkenau, one of the most notorious Nazi concentration camps, was liberated. Let us remember and honor the millions of lives lost in the Holocaust, and the almost 200,000 survivors still alive today.
