As Co-Chair of the Congressional Caucus on Homelessness, I introduced legislation to recognize November as National Homeless Children and Youth Awareness Month because every kid deserves to have a stable home where they can live, learn and thrive.

It was wonderful to connect with seniors and volunteers at Meals on Wheels People in Beaverton with Mayor Lacey Beaty. 🧵

It is disturbing that the Trump administration and Congressional Republicans are making enormous investments ICE but not education.

We need mass education, not mass deportation.

On Transgender Day of Remembrance, we remember the lives that have been lost to anti-trans violence. 🧵

It was an honor to meet Dolores Huerta at the Hacienda CDC gala. Her leadership and activism have led to profound and lasting positive change in the civil rights and labor movements. 🧵

At the Hillsboro Year-Round Shelter I spoke with Metro Councilor Juan Carlos González about the importance of creating partnerships to fund important community projects.

Today we fought to bring light to the darkness, and we won. 🧵

Today I was in a packed room of survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell who have raised their collective voices for justice. 🧵

Today the Trump administration is expected to announce that they will be transferring as many as six critical offices out of the Department of Education, further enacting Project 2025’s radical agenda to dismantle the Department and undermine public education.
November 18, 2025 at 5:34 PM
It was exciting to celebrate the grand opening of Hillsboro’s new Year-Round Shelter with the City of Hillsboro, Washington County, Metro, and many other public, private, and non-profit partners who made this dream a reality. 🧵

Donald Trump is pressuring Republicans who want to disclose the Epstein files. What is he hiding?

There's a new episode of Suzanne on the Street AND new buildings to explore at the @portlandartmuseum.bsky.social! I spoke with PAM's John Goodwin about Portland's thriving art scene and what's new at PAM - including the grand opening of the Rothko Pavilion and other exciting events coming up soon.

Today marks the beginning of #TransgenderAwarenessWeek! To trans people across the state and the country - I will continue to fight for the equal rights and opportunities you deserve despite the onslaught of GOP attacks against the community.

This was a bad bill that will increase the cost of healthcare, but now Republicans have made it worse. I’m voting no.
November 13, 2025 at 1:14 AM
This continuing resolution was already a bad bill, but now it’s worse. Republicans slipped in a provision to give hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars to some GOP Senators connected to Jan 6, but they still do nothing to improve health care. 🧵

I’m standing with @housedemocrats.bsky.social to protect health care for Oregonians and Americans.
November 12, 2025 at 8:19 PM
With steep premium increases, Oregonians are being forced to make impossible decisions between paying for food, housing, and child care. 🧵
November 12, 2025 at 7:45 PM
I’ve said it before and I will say it again: I will not support a bill that increases health care costs and cuts essential services for Oregonians and Americans across the country. I am a no.
November 11, 2025 at 9:44 PM
Today we recognize and celebrate veterans and remember the sacrifices and contributions they and their families make to protect our country and its values and freedoms. 🧵

Victor Cruz is an upstanding member of the Hillsboro community who never should have been detained by ICE. I’m grateful that his wrongful detention has come to an end and that he is reunited with his family. 🧵

Oregonians got some good news today that their SNAP benefits have come through. It's unacceptable that the Trump administration originally refused to release the SNAP funding even after ordered to do so by a court order. It should never have come to this.

Thank you to @pelosi.house.gov for her years of dedicated public service in San Francisco and for the American people. Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi broke barriers as the first woman Speaker of the House, and in that work she created a legacy as the most successful and effective Speaker. 🧵
November 6, 2025 at 11:31 PM
The Trump administration’s chaotic tariff policies raise costs and harm Oregonians, Americans, and the economy. It is the role of Congress, not the president working on his own, to implement tariffs when appropriate. 🧵
November 5, 2025 at 10:42 PM
I visited Victor Cruz at the ICE detention center in Tacoma today. He should not be there.

ICE took Victor not because he committed a crime, but because he has the same name as someone else. I continue to call for his immediate release and his return to his home and family.
