As a lawyer, I'm willing to admit that "we're not responsible for our chatbot talking someone into suicide because our terms of service prohibit using our chatbot for suicide" means that lawyers need to be first up against the wall when the revolution comes.

Bsky disclaimer: hyperbole not a threat

I have long posited that Daniel Craig's accent in Glass Onion is better than Knives Out because in Knives Out he is trying to do a real Southern accent and is bad at it but in Glass Onion he is just talking like Foghorn Leghorn, which is something a real gay Southern weirdo would do.

one of the coolest things about ChatGPT is how you can actually just never use it. you can fill your whole entire life with simply not once using it. it's incredible.

> They can get married in Poland simply by crossing the border to Germany

This is a) not in Poland and b) the "simply" there is doing a lot of heavy lifting. It's good that it's an option *for some people* but it's not enough.

This is "just go abroad for an abortion" rhetoric but for gay marriage.

> This effectively legalises gay marriage across 🇪🇺

Would be really cool if it were true, but no, that's still a fight we have to fight domestically. This just forces them to recognise marriage from other countries. A gay couple in Poland still cannot get married in Poland.

Journalist challenge: Use “Machine Learning” when you mean machine learning and “LLM” when you mean LLM. Ditch “AI” as a catch-all term, it’s not useful for readers and it helps companies trying to confuse the public by obscuring the roles played by different technologies. 🧪

“The voices that matter most – trans young people, their families, the clinicians who work with them and trans health experts in Aotearoa – have been clear: access to puberty blockers is crucial.”

Young trans people need access to transition healthcare. We must listen to them, not to transphobes.
Puberty blockers: why politicians overriding doctors sets a dangerous precedent
The government’s ban on puberty blockers undermines clinical expertise and targets trans youth with a policy that lacks evidence, consistency and fairness.

It's weird how aggressive some folks can be when you decline alcohol. Like they need you to justify why you aren't drinking.

Please don't be that person.

Just a friendly reminder as we go into the holidays:

Folks don't have to explain to you why they don't drink.

If you offer them a drink and they decline, don't ask them why. It's not your business.

Just offer them something without alcohol to drink instead. And move on.

I don't know who needs to see this, but sensory sensitivities due to brain wiring differences are disabling.

What I mean by this is that some people have brain wiring that creates sensory integration issues... which causes the brain to over respond to sensory inputs.

Because "1 in 3 women has, at some point in her life, experienced severe physical violence by an intimate partner. Researchers say that most of these women have also had at least one concussion or what a doctor would call a mild traumatic brain injury."
Domestic violence is now recognized as a leading cause of traumatic brain injury
Domestic violence can leave a characteristic pattern of damage on the brain, with the potential for lasting damage as severe as that caused by sports and military blasts.
