I just took a ride with Uber, and my driver is from Venezuela. He spent the whole trip expressing concern that the same shift from democracy to dictatorship he saw in Venezuela is happening right now in the United States. He’s absolutely incredulous that Americans are allowing it to happen.

We talk a lot about all that European nations contributed militarily after 9/11 but let's also consider what they contributed to winning the Cold War. NATO was created to bolster their resolve to stand up to Russia. They held fast for decades.

Every day some story breaks me some. Today it’s the guy who approached parents at a school patrol, told them he was with Indivisible, and asked about how the patrol system works. The parents gave vague answers, followed him back to his car — and of course it was ICE.

There are reports a young man in Iran hid in a body bag for three days without food and water. He didn’t want to move bc he feared he would be shot if he did. He was discovered by his family after three days of searching among the body bags.
