Tierra Walker knew that abortion was illegal in Texas, but she thought that hospitals could make an exception for patients like her, whose health was clearly on the line.

At 20 weeks pregnant, she died of preeclampsia.
Women With High-Risk Pregnancies Have Limited Options Under Abortion Bans
Our reporting has found that abortion bans generally don’t include exceptions that cover health concerns pregnant women with chronic conditions can face — or if they do, doctors aren’t using them.

I’m reposting myself bc I can’t stop thinking about this—or being enraged about the different standards.
I thought Republicans want the same standards to be held for everyone?
I keep thinking about how Biden had a cold & sounded old for 1 hr, & EVERY media outlet spent two weeks+ questioning his fitness to be president. Pages & hours & posts galore! Trump sounds like an immature 3yo EVERY DAY. I’m waiting for ALL the media to tell us non-stop for 2 wks he’s not fit.

Some criminologists suggest "the decreases, which began under former president Joe Biden, are linked to the Biden administration’s aggressive pandemic-era spending on community-based violence intervention and wraparound social services."

Homicide rates have undergone the most striking change, with some of the nation’s 52 largest cities recording the fewest murders in half a century.
